Welcome to our website! We hope you enjoy your visit. This is a site for K-12 teachers and students looking for ways to use nature as an inspiration and guide for problem-solving. Whatever you want to call it, bio-inspired design, biomimicry, or biomimetics, it is a fascinating subject... and it is rich in solutions to some of our planet's most pressing problems.
 
Besides, what could be cooler than using hippo sweat as a sun block, or designing buildings based on bubbles, or having a  sharkskin swimsuit? We hope you will let us help you build your next BioDreamMachine.

You will find case studies, links to other useful pages, teaching tips, lesson plans and guides. We will also have a  “heroes” section for you to learn about some of the people working in the field of bio-inspired research, design, engineering and education.
