DNA Building Blocks and Self-Assembly

Researchers at the University of Oxford have used DNA to self-assemble pyramid-shaped structures which could be used as containers (possibly for drug delivery).  They believe more complex shapes can be created by 'programming' the DNA.

DNA structures have been created in the past using a complex series of steps.  The new technique requires only one step and can generate trillions of pyramids in seconds.
