BioDreamMachine Exploring Nature's Solutions

A team led by Dr. Joseph M. DeSimone at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) has developed a way of creating a mold of a naturally occurring, self-assembled objects.  Accuracy at the 2nm scale has been achieved.  This allows researchers to reproduce the shape using other materials, to study the properties of the shape and modify it through attaching targeting agents or signaling molecules.
